 -this is my trip log.
 In last month, October 23, I leaved Japan to go to Georgia, US to join ISSAC.(International Saxophone Symposium and Competition)

• 1: Narita-> O'Hare
• 2:O'Hare->Atlanta->Columbus
• 3:A day before the competition
• 4:Day 1 of 1st round
• 5:Day 2 of 1st round
• 6:Claude Delangle concert
• 7:Semi-final round day
• 8:Final round day
• 9:Atlanta->Chicago->Japan

さ、最終回です。とうとう。
This is the LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!


帰りたくないなーと思いつつも、もともとジョージアを発つ日にはどっか行きたかったので(半分以上わがままじゃねーかｗ)。
というのと、こういう状況なので、何やら行き先が変更出来るらしいということで、
本当は
ジョージア→ニューヨーク
だったのを、ジョージア→シカゴに変更する計画で、とりあえず空港に行きました。

My flight was already decided to be cancelled at last night, so I needed to change my flight.
In my plan, I was going to NewYork from Georgia but it never happened because of Sandy.

So then,  I made a new plan to go to Chicago because I can go there on United airline.
To get this plan real, I went to the airport with my friend -he's gonna back to his home in CA.

Good airport! Many officer are kind and helped me!

And say good bye to my friend! I already miss you guys!!!!

ここでカリフォルニアに帰る友人とはお別れ。また会う日までー！寂しくなるなあ〜・・・。

Waiting for flight...

I could get new ticket for Chicago but it was too late boarding. 7 or 8pm!!!

Then I thought I needed to wait the airport 10 hours, however officer helped me and she got new flight for me. It was 4:30pm -boarding time!!! Great!!!

So I just wait for flight during 6 hours.

It is not too long, I think. 6 hours? I can say,"it doesn't matter."

Maybe finally I got new feeling about time management...lol

本当はその前日からもう既にキャンセルになっていたので、

航空会社(今回、偶然にも?日本の航空会社を利用しました)に電話をし、カクカクシカジカでシカゴなりシアトルなりに行きたいと行ったら、

就航しているシカゴ・サンフランシスコあたりに来て欲しいとの事。

とはいえ、シアトルもサンフランシスコも、私が今回US国内移動に使ったUnited airlineは就航していないため、不可。

(自己負担するなら、って言われましたけど、そんなお金書けるなら、ねえ？って感じでしょう？)

そんなわけで最初その電話の時にシカゴ行きを取ろうとするも、満席だとなってしまって取れず。

・・・という経緯があったので、空港行ったところで取れんの？これ。って思いつつ、行ってみました。

(まあ友達が「大丈夫でしょう。」って言ってたんで、それを信じて。)

そしたらまあやっぱ取れるんですよ。空港行ったほうがいいって事だったのかどうかはわかりませんが。

とはいえ、本当の予定では10時半とかのフライトだったのが、ジョージア→シカゴが夕方7時。

はにゃー？(・∀・)って感じでしょ。

ほほお、10時間？みたいな。

でもその後なんとか「もうちょと早いので行きたいんだけど〜〜」とか言ったら、勿論スタンバイ・リストにも入れてくれましたけど(空席ができ次第、そのリストの上の人から早い便に乗れるというもの)、

中入った後にデスク行ったら、最終的に16時半の便を確定出来ました。

そう、つまり6時間ちょい待てば行けるわけです。なーんだ、良かった。

ここまで来ると時間のとり方がもう 超 ワ イ ド。　いっつも分刻みで何かしようとしてる人間とは思えない。何このアメリカナイズドされてる感じーｗ

そして因縁の?、シカゴ空港へ。

After the flight, I arrived O'Hare airport.

Oh, it was third time to arrive here but was very, very first time to stay here.

When I waited for the flight, I booked hotel by my iPhone and after arrived Chicago, I went to hotel to be relax!!!

Yeah, I need to stay one more day in US to get flight for home.

そうそう、待ってる間にiPhoneでシカゴの空港近くのホテルを取ったんですね。

というのは、この日はシカゴ→東京はもうなかったので。

Nice sunset!!

I was so relaxed at the hotel. Great hotel and although I was just sitting and using my PC, I can say I could spend nice time at the hotel.

行ってみたらセレブホテルでした。

それはもうリラックスさせてもらいましたとも。

周り道とかそんなでしたけどｗ　次はシカゴの繁華街に行ってみたいですね。

In my trip, I can always get unexpected experiences such as these trouble because of whether.

Always tough experience, but I can get awesome memory even though I was in difficult situation then.

I can think it is like a spice to my trip become better.lol

After this night, I woke up early, went to the airport to go back to Japan.

Shuttle bus.

Starbuck's again. -at O'Hare airport.

Got flight from there!!

I really thought I don't wanna go back to home...(T-T)

I think I love US...!!!!! See you｡･ﾟ･(ﾉД`)･ﾟ･｡

I could arrived Japan earlier than schedule.

My mom picked me up and finally go back to home.

It was sounds like SO LONG trip, but it was occurred in just a week!

Of course I wish I could stay longer...

Someday, I want to stay longer, longer than a month.

I thought my english was improving when I was in US but now,,,, unimproved...(=_=;)

And I got so many fun time in US. That's why I like US and don't want to go back to Japan...

But, anyways, it was SOOOO great experiences!!

Thank you for all of people who supported me. I really appreciate.

ほんっとねー。日本戻りたくなかったですけど(笑)。ていうのは、やっぱり1週間ぐらいだと(そう、こんだけ長く時間書けて書いてましたけど、言ってしまえば所詮1週間ぐらいの出来事ですｗｗどんだけ壮大なのｗ)、英語がしゃべれるようになってきたな、通じてきたなと思った頃に帰国なので、

ちょっと上がったと思ったらまた下がっていくという。。。　ちょっと寂しいですね。

次行くときは、1ヶ月以上とか、少し長めにいければいいのになと。なかなかそう上手くはいかないですけど、そういうチャンスを作りたいですね。

というのは、とりあえずさておき！

本当にすごくいい経験をたくさんしてきました。

すべてのサポートして下さった皆様方に、感謝感謝です。ありがとうございました!!!

Ok,,, finally I think I can write about final round...
It was so long journey because I was lazy :P Sorry!!!

ということで、ようやくファイナルラウンドの事を書けます。
マジあほやろーｗ　ゴメンナサイネ。


ということで、この日は朝からFinal Round.
朝10時スタートとかだったかな。間に合う？あれ？ビミョー？とか言ってましたが、結局若干時間が押してたので問題なく。

This day, final round begun at 10 am.
I could hear all of finalists' performance.


そうそう、説明し損ねましたが、
1st round --40人　→ 2nd Round --12人　→　3rd Round --6人
という流れなんですね。
一番やはり人数減るとかそういう意味だと1次→2次がまあきついのかな？

課題曲とかが一番ゴツかったのでツッコミいれたいところですが、それはまたあとで。

ファイナル・ラウンドは、初演のコンチェルトがありまして。

それっていうのが、サックス×パーカッション・アンサンブルなのでこういう配置になってます。それにしてもまあ効率は悪かったよｗ

楽しかったです。

Finalists played solo piece, work with piano and play with percussion ensemble.(new concerto written by James David for this competition)

At the first time, I couldn't image and play well, however finally I got it when I hear finalists' performance.
(before I heard finalists playing, I think I could get image just a little bit...)

ちなみに一位は、PRISM quartetのメンバーのザック氏。

ちなみにちなみに、行くまで名前見てもあまりピンと来てなかったのですが、「げっ、ま、まさか？」「そう、まさかだよ！まじフェアじゃないよｗ」なんて話をみんなとしてたっていうのはここだけの話。

彼は、やっぱり1位にふさわしい貫禄の演奏でございました。

ヤヴァいね。

これはねー、ポテトが美味しかったです。笑

Took dinner in this restaurant- near the hotel.

I was eating with two of my friends but one of the friend already went back to his home, so two of us ate here. So yummy~~~!! :)

ラスト・ディナー。

いつも、私はふたりの友達と食べたりしてたんですけど(ホテルが一緒)、ひとりはこの時既に帰ってしまったので、二人でー。辛かったけど美味しかった〜!!

During I was in US, I often watch TV to check SANDY -hurricane.

Almost news, such as CNN, reported Sandy or election. Just 2 topics.
And I checked the reports of Sandy often because my flight was already cancelled then..(T-T)

むこうにいるときは、英語に触れるという意味でもよくニュースをつけていたのですが、
まあもう着いて1日2日したぐらいからサンディー(ハリケーン)の事を報じてて、やばそうだなと思っていたら、やはり・・・
違うところに渡航するはずが、ハリケーンが本当にやばい地域だったので、もうこの時点でフライトはキャンセル。まだ前日なんですけど・・・


果たしてどうなる、私、帰れるのかッッ!??!

い、、、今何回目・・・？(ゼエゼエ)

さ！セミファイナルですよ、奥さん!!!!


Gonna start writing about semi-final day!!!


One of my friend was a semi-finalist!
We heard semifinalists' perform and after that, we waited for announce and had masterclasses.


I couldn't hear all of semifinalists' perform.
However, I think all of them were so great(that's why they're semifinalists!), and some pieces are new for me.
Some players choose "KuKu", composed by Cockcrost.

I knew this piece, but it's just only the name.
So this was very first time to hear it. So great piece, I think!!
Have you ever heard it?


And all of semifinalists have different character.
I think Japanese players tend to play similar, of course each players have different character, but it is so closer than US players.

It is kind of interesting points between US and Japan... Don't you think so?


After all of semifinalists performed, announced the result. Congrats, all of finalists and great job, for all of semifinalists!!!=)


This day, we had 2 masterclasses. Mr Lulloff and Mr Delangle!!!
One of my friend played Villa-Lobos!! He did great job with his soprano and all of students are awesome:)


この日はそのセミファイナルの後、ルロフさん(発音合ってるかな。。)とデロォーンことドゥラングルさんのマスタークラス!!!

ルロフさんのマスタークラスでは香港から留学中の友達が吹いてました。
ちなみに彼はヴィラ＝ロボスのファンタジア。　ブラボー！

行ってみて思ったのは、暗譜する人がそうそう珍しくないんですね。
というか、先生によってはそれを推奨してるんでしょうね。

After this masterclass, we had talk session.

I asked Mr Delangle about how I can improve my tonguing skill.

マスタークラス後にトークセッション、というか質疑応答ですね。が、ありまして。

ちゃんと質問してきました。

どうやったらタンギングを上手く出来るかというような内容で。英語だったんで大丈夫かなというのはもうこのへんまでくるとなくなりました。

今ですか？　復活しててちょっと危ないですね。。うーん、環境って大きいな。

We went to Thai restaurant near the school of music.

Greaaattttt and yummy!!!!!!!!!xD

After the dinner, we went back to college to practice, but not hard practice. Just for fun!!!lol

I and friend "Paganini lost" a little bit.

I couldn't play well because this was first time, but so fun!!!

...oh, I think I should re-start to practice Paganini lost.lol

Next day, finally, finally,,,, final round!!!! Finally I can write and finish to ISSAC...

So, we gonna move on to the Delangle's concert.

I wanna say, it was SO AMAZING night!!!

(以下、ちゃんと書き足しましたからね！ｗ)

ドビュッシー生誕150周年記念ということでの、このプログラム。

もう、素晴らしかった・・・!!の一言に尽きます。　特にやっぱり1曲めのデュクリュックかなあ〜・・・。

私がそもそもこの曲(Decruck)を知ったきっかけが、彼のレコーディングだったので。

前に昭和音大に来日された時(※その時わたくし高校生でした)は残念ながらプログラムになく。(多分)

今回聞くことができて本当に嬉しかったし、3楽章の連符なんかはもう圧巻。シルクの布がどこまでも伸びていってるような。

デュクリュックとドビュッシーの時にマッピをチェンジしていたのが面白かったですけど。笑

なかなかない光景ですね・・・。　彼は確かに曲によって変えたりするなんて話を聞いてましたが、本当だったのか。みたいな。

勿論どの曲も素晴らしかったというのは言うまでもないのですが、

あとはやはり最後のラヴェル。

この曲はそれこそ・・・　彼が昭和音大に来日した時に聞きましたが、またその時はちょっと違う印象。

ていっても、ごめんなさいやっぱり時間が経っちゃってるとダメですね・・・　もう感動したことしか覚えていない・・・。

終わったあとはもう本当に、絵に描いたように全員がスタンディング・オベーション。

ドラマ「のだめ」もびっくり、あんな感じでみんな立ち上がって。

そういうの、日本だけなのかな。全然ないですよ！

いや、イギリスでもコンサート行ったことあるし、香港でもコンサートありましたが(どちらも勿論！素晴らしかったです)、あんな・・・　観客みんながうわあああ！ってなるって、そうそうない機会だったように思います。

ドゥラングルさん(向こう行ったら「デロォーン」、だった!!!w発音。。。)はアメリカに来る前に日本に来てらっしゃって、そこではまた全然違うプログラムだったし、こっち来てからもどのぐらいさらっている(練習している)んだろうと思っていましたが、

・・・多分ピアノとのリハぐらいしかやってないんでしょうね。ｗ

それでもあれだけ出来るという。

まあ、今までずっと、そして何回も多分これらの作品は演奏されてきたんだと思います。

なんか、もうもはや彼のモノなんですよね。　いや、曲に誰のもの、とかそんなものはないというのは知っていますが、私がそれこそイベール(の１楽章だけとはいえ、)「モノ」に出来なかった。という感じがしていたので。

なんか、ただただ眩しかったというか。

・・・なんか見る視点がまたちょっと違う気がするけど。汗

Again, I want to say, it was so amazing and wonderful performance!!!

Especially, I like his Decruck.

I didn't know Decruck's sonata before I listened to his recording.

Since then, I love this piece and I wanted to hear his playing in someday.

And, I got the chance to hear it!!!xD

It was great sounds and, especially 3 movement,,,, of course his technique is so great, you know?

His music shapes are so beautiful. Amazing...!!!

I can't describe my mind because of my English skills and vocabulary.

But, I can't say my mind exactly even Japanese.

There was so amazing space it can't express in words.

After his Ravel performance, all of audience were standing and clap hands.

It is, I think I never experienced to see performance with such a great audience.

(Great audience-> include me :P)

Can you believe all of us were standing and waiting for an encore?

そしてその後はセルマープレゼンツ！　レセプションです。

After the concert, we had a reception party!!!

気がつけば集まる、アジアン・・・笑　with Claude Delangle!!!!　やばいｗ

Oh, all of us, except Mr Delangle are Asian...!!
He is very kind and so great person! I wish we can meet in Japan =)


ちなみにこの方もいらっしゃいまして。(マスタークラスがあったんです。彼の。)

We couldn't stay longer but we had a great time there with a little bit alcohol. Hahaha!!!

So much memories are there... and so much experiences I gained there...

このシリーズは何回続けるつもりなのか・・・

一応、リミットは10回(＋目次)と思っているのですが、果たして。
2日に１ぺん更新が定着してきました。うーん、そういうつもりじゃないんですけど・・・　Kですコンバンハ。


さて、私の第1ラウンド終了したところでしたね・・・

Begin with a ,,, next day of my performance...


I went to the hall early morning to hear my friend and another competitors' playing.
When did day 2 of 1st round start? Guess when???


8:30am.

All of my friends- include performed in day 1- were so great and inspiring me...!!!


After my friend's performance, we went back to hotel and had lunch near our hotel.
There are some restaurants :)
Really great...!!!

Lunch!!! Chicken permeziana...?? Oh forgot the name(*_*)

らららのランチ。チキンパルメツィアーナ?? なんかそんな感じの名前で。

見覚えあるなと思ったら、実はその前の晩御飯も同じような名前のものを頼んでいました。さり気なく食べ比べしていた・・・ｗ

And then, we went to school again.

To hear announcement and visit an exhibition hall!

Some companies, such as RICO and vandren showed some new products and we can try horns!

And many scores were sold. I got 2 scores there :)

When I visited RICO's booth, they gave me trial ligature!! SOOOOO NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!

And so surprised...!!lol

楽器屋さんとかがブースなんかを出してたりして。

あと楽譜屋さんもあったので、楽譜をふたつほど。ムチンスキーが日本円にして約700円!!円高〜！

そしてRICOのブースに寄ってみると、なななんと!!!!試供品よぉ〜とか言って無料でリガチャーもらいました。なんだそれ!!!

やべー、さすがアメリカ考えてることが違う・・・(そういう問題？ｗ)

When all of competitor had done to perform, we waited some minutes and then, announced semi-finalists.

My name was not called, but I was happy because,I can be relax(´∀｀)

It's joke, but little bit serious...lol

I knew I couldn't perform again as a semi-finalist because I have many things to fix and after I hear many competitors, I'm ok, but not good enough to pass the 1st round.

So then, I thought I need to practice and think more...

その後、セミファイナリストがアナウンスされ(ルー大柴かッ!)、まあ通らないだろうなと思っていたので。

呼ばれなくて逆にホッとしたというか。笑

少なくともこのあとリラックス出来るわあなんてのほほんとしつつ、このままじゃダメなんだな〜、(にほん)帰ったら練習だー、と思っていたのでした。

During they were rehearsing and practicing, I joined master class to hear my friends' playing and my study!!

This day, we had Tim Mc Allister's master class!!

4 students were playing and they were so great!!!

It is tough to understand because of my english skills, but maybe I could got many important things...(I hope so!!)

その後はティモシー・マカリスターのマスタークラス！

そしてそのあとは、夜のドゥラングルのコンサートの前に晩御飯をってことで食べてきました。

We had dinner before Delangle's concert.

I thought pizza is just a piece, but it is .... ohhhh,,,,,(=_=;)
But so yum and I enjoyed!!:)

はいはいこの日は・・・　何時に起きて何時に出たのかイマイチちゃんと覚えてないのですが、

ビミョーに早く来てしまったので、とりあえず練習してました。

部屋によってはこんな感じでピアノのある部屋、ない部屋とあります。
ピアノも、アップライト、グランド、エレクトリック・ピアノがある部屋・・・　様々です。
電子かよｗｗ　ってまあ、私達が使えたのが2階のその部屋だけだったので、もしかしたらもっとたくさんすごい部屋があるのかもしれません。


コンクールでステージに立つまでの流れは
20分前に受付に行く
　↓
直前練習
　↓
舞台裏待機
　↓

In some of rooms, there is grand piano, or upright piano, or electrical piano.
While there are some of no piano rooms.

An hour before my performance, I practiced in this room.
And then,
 20 min before: go to registration desk

さてこの部屋(上の写真)が舞台に行く前に通される部屋。
ここで最終的なチェックになります。

・・・なんかちょっとgleeとかで出てきそうな、てろーんとした布が後ろにかかってたりします。
とりあえず吹きすぎ防止の意味も込めて、のんきに(というわけじゃないんだけど)写真撮ってました。

I checked my reeds, sounds,,, and so on.

その後の、実際のパフォーマンスについてはまたグチグチと(嘘)あとで書いていくとして・・・
これはホールの写真。　こんなホールで演奏したのです。いい経験させてもらいました。

I'm gonna write about my performance later...
I think I could do my good performance. Not best, but I was happy.

And I was performance at this hall. So nice hall and I wish I could perform more...!!

After the performance, we went to a restaurant for lunch. PIZZA!!!!

We had nice lunch, especially I was so fun because I already finished my 1st round then.lol

これが晩御飯食べたレストラン。　ちょっとこれじゃーわかりにくいかもしれませんが、ひとつ言えることは、薄暗い良い感じ〜。笑

横にはバーなんかもあって、どっちかっていうと金曜日の夜みたいなにおいがします。笑

んでその後、通るかどうかなんて当然わからなかったけれど(多分ダメだろうなあと思いつつも)、一応2次の為の練習を。

ちなみにどうして多分ダメだと思ったのか、は、まあまたそのうち。

次の日はまだ続く！1次に、マスタークラス2連発、そしてコンサート。

すごいイベントづくしですねｗ

So nice university!!!!lol


Next day, one of my friend going to perform as a 1st round.
Yeah, this day, Thursday->1st round
And Friday-> also 1st round, and announce.


Then, I just wait for the announce but after the dinner, I back to university and practiced a little bit for 2nd round.
Of course I'm not sure I could pass or not, but just wanted to practice. I thought...



This was my performance  day's log.

And next day, 1st round and master classes, concert.
...So fabulous events was coming up!!

I took this pic at 7:00am. Still dark outside...!!


After the breakfast, we(I and my friend) went to Columbus state university.
ISSAC(International Saxophone Symposium and Competition) hold in this university.
So we went to this building for rehearsal and practice.

Here is the school of music!!!!x)

ちょっと暗いですがｗｗｗ　練習室や、隣には会場となるレガシーホールがあります。

My rehearsal was 12:30, so after that, we went to downtown for lunch!!

One of saxophone student told us that this(below!) shop is providing sandwiches in half price!!!x)

Why we can miss it!?!?

私のリハがお昼前だったので、その後にダウンタウンへお昼を食べに。

ちょうどこの日、なんと半額でサンドウィッチが食える！(※食べられる、でしょう)、ということで。行かないわけには行かないでしょう〜〜〜ｗ

どどーん。

まいぅぅぅでした。

あと、ドリンクバーでもないのに、コップもらって後はお代わり自由。すげー！まじアメリカふとっぱらやなー！

Soooo yum!!!!

I was surprised I can refill coke or any sodas in my cup. Maybe anytime!!! Soooo fabulous....!!!

Eh? You say it's usual things in US??

I think you'll be surprised when you come to Japan...!!!

その後は一緒のホテルのお友達がリハで。

(あ、ホテル⇔大学へはタクシーじゃないと無理でした。。タクシーで10分ちょい。)

その子が終わるまではテキトーに練習していたりぼへ〜っとしていたりして、記憶が正しければどっかでご飯食べたような気もする・・・。(曖昧)

After the lunch, my friend was going to have a rehearsal.

During his rehearsal, I was practicing, little bit relaxing...

We waited for taxi for a long time... ah? not long time??(-∀-)
Anyways, this day was just practice, and rehearsal!


Of course I met my pianist in this day and she's so nice!!
I thought I can play well next day's 1st round.

まあとにかく、この日はとりあえず練習！そしてリハ〜、でした。

当然この日に初めて公式伴奏者の方にお会いしたんですが。
私の伴奏をして下さったのはチャイニーズ系の綺麗な女性です。とても良い方で、ちょっと安心〜。
