Kの「欧州かっ！」 -5

今気がついた。

「欧州か！」と「欧州かっ！」が混在していた。

結局先ほど「欧州かっ！」に統一しました。
そのへん細かいB型Kです。 でもねえ言っときますけど血液型なんて関係ないですから。
ーなんて思っていたら、高校の生物で血液型とか遺伝のことをやってた時、周りが興味を持って勉強する中チンプンカンプンでした。

いろんなことに興味を持つって、大事です。

さて、前回は自分の演奏が終わったところで終わったんでしたっけ。(※数時間前に書いたくせに言う)

その後はまた鑑賞したりブース回ったりしてました。ざざっとどうぞー。

After the performance(see previous post if you don't check), I attended concerts again!

 SOS(Saksofonski Orkester SOSって書いてあった)。スロベニアを始めとするヨーロッパの奏者たちのチーム。
バスサックスを吹いているマテヤーシュ氏の指導力の賜物なのかしら、発音とか音そのものとかやっぱり綺麗だし、アンサンブルとしてのクオリティが非常に高い！
別場所でセルマーの大々的なプレゼンテーション??をやっていたので人こそ少なかったけれど、ブラボーでした！

SOS, from Slovenia, performed their countries' composers pieces and some pieces based on folksong.
These pieces are unique and it made me wish that I want to hear Slovenian pieces again.
Their sounds and ensemble are awesome! Beautiful intonation, well-blended sound and presentation was also great. Bravo!

こちらはウィーン音楽院のLars Mlekusch氏の生徒によるアンサンブルで、シュトックハウゼン等のコンテンポラリーを3曲。

やっぱり映像や録音音源等のメディアとのコラボ的なのはトレンドなのかしら。面白いけど。

しかし、コンテンポラリーをやろうと思ったらやっぱりヨーロッパなのかなあ。

興味は大いにあるので、そういうのを思うとこういったコンテンポラリーを、しかも集団で出来る環境っていうのは羨ましい。

Saxophone studio of Lars Mlekusch played contemporary ensemble such as Stockhausen and so on.

Play with movie, is not rare for contemporary piece. I think. Kind of trend...?

And they also did two pieces with movie. These pieces are stimulated for me and made me think that I should see Europe schools if I want to play contemporary pieces and ensemble.

その後同場所にてBarry Cockcroft氏のコンサート。
1曲は彼のソロで、2曲めはJerome Laran氏を迎えてのデュオ。相変わらずすごい曲書くなあ。会場が沸く、沸く。

Next one-- Barry Cockcroft's concert.
He played two pieces -one is played alone and other one played with Jerome Laran.
These pieces are sounds fantastic and I want to play these even it is difficult! Hehe...

Kenneth Tse氏のコンサート。
スペインの作曲家の新作とPiet Swerts氏の新作を。ーで、ピアノはそのスウェルツ氏w
この写真見ると「この曲知ってる人プチャヘンザッ!!」みたいなアテレコをしたいんですけど、チェ先生はどんどん日本語喋れる(読める?)ようになってきてるので変なこと出来ません。(するなよ。)

 Swerts氏の曲はパガニーニの主題による、的なやつだったのですが、また新たなコンクールピースの誕生を見たってかんじでした。近いうちにまた重要なレパートリーのひとつになるのかなあ。

Kenneth Tse's concert.
He showed two pieces -one is composed by Spanish composer and other one is composed by Piet Swerts who played piano in this concert!
I can say only "He is awesome!" coz Dr Tse can understand not only English but also Japanese too!!lol
But he is really cool!! I hope I can be like him coz I'm using YAMAHA too.lol

Swerts's piece is based on Paganini's famous theme and it's gonna be new competition piece. I guess.
Is there any information about publish???

この日の目玉？ Aurelia Saxophone Quartetです。
オランダのボーンカンプ氏がテナーでずっとやっているこのカルテットですが、今回ソプラノが変更になっての発のお披露目？
初めて生で聞きましたが、いっやーーー　何あの心が浄化されるようなアンサンブルはッッ。
ボーンカンプ氏のテナーの音の綺麗さは勿論、アルトの方の音もまた超美音。
体の構造がそもそも違うんじゃねーかと疑うほど...

Finally I could see Aurelia Saxophone Quartet!!
It was VERY first time to hear their playing and Alto and Tenor sounds are especially fabulous.
Too beautiful sound, clear ensemble... I almost melt..



この日はこのコンサートで終わり。さあリラックスぅー
(本当はまだ違うのありましたが、予約出来なかったので私はお先に失礼して。)

I went back to home after the concert.
(I didn't Jazz concert because I couldn't reserve~...)


と、思いきや、前回お伝えした自分らのコンサートの後、リチャードからkuriさんに連絡が。
要約するとこんな感じ。

「You, 明日の会議のあともう1回吹いちゃいなYO!!!」

I thought I can relax a little bit coz I've done my performance, but an email changed my situation.
Richard Ingham asked us to join next day's picnic to performance and we said yes!

It means that--- I relaxed A LITTLE BIT and prepare for upcoming performance!

We were surprised, but very happy to have one more performance XD

Schedule of July 14th was meeting(decide a place of next congress, committee members, and so on), picnic after the meeting, and Jazz live!

I couldn't attend meeting because I didn't have a pass(I bought three days pass only). Some of members too.
So we left our home late morning and went to the park(?) for performance and having fun!


ーちょっと整理をすると。

この日の翌日の14日はコングレス最終日であり、この日は次の開催地を決めたり委員会のメンバーを決める会議があります。
そしてその後はピクニックと称した交流会(のような野外パーティー☆)があり、そこで吹かないか？というお誘いを受け、勿論OK☆と返信した我々。

てことで会議には参加しなかったものの(私はパスを持ってなかった)、会議後にそこへ向かうことに。
はい、14日に入りますよー。

その会議場。
ここを抜けると大きな庭が!! そう、ピクニックというかガーデンパーティーであった。

ということでもう1回リチャードのMrs Malcom, Her Reelを演奏！
メンバーは増えたり変わったりしましたが、盛り上がってよかったー。

ちなみに私は日光に耐えられずサングラスつけてます。目が、、、目が、、、！

So we performed Mrs Malcom, Her Reel again!!
We needed to change a member and added one more person for soprano and no rehearsal, but we enjoyed to perform!
I could see some friends' smile, so I guess audience also had fun too =)

超開放的な庭にただひたすらテンションが上がりました。

その後はコングレスの締めとなる野外ライブへ！

Apolo Saxophone Quartetのメンバーのひとりがリーダーを務めるサックスアンサンブルで、ジャズまでやっちゃうんですよねー。しかも上手いし！

メンバーの中にはデュランデュランのメンバーもいたって言ってたな。

After the picnic, we went to a place for hearing final performance of this congress!

Jazz live!!

ジャズというよりファンクなのか?? それにしても何にしても、カッコイイ!!!!
多分全然関係ない地元の人もお客さんの中に沢山いたと思うのですが、みんな楽しそうで。

I think there're not only saxophonists but also local people to enjoy the music.
Every people had fun!!

I really miss this several days of congress...!! Little bit feel sad ah...

サックスサックスで沸いた6日間が終わり、ちょっとさみしいなあなんて思うのもつかの間、この日はフランスの革命記念日。

呑みながら花火を待っていたら、まーびっくり。

BUT.
With the approach of night, people crowded and made procession to see fireworks in good place.

大名行列かよ!!!
そう、みんな花火を見るべく広場へと集っていったのです。
ていっても、渋谷のスクランブル交差点とかの方が人口密度とかは高めです。って都会っ子かよ！w
その広場では仮設ステージでDJがターンテーブル回してたり踊ってたりなんやかんやお祭り騒ぎ。

SOOOO many people..
If you say "there're more people in Tokyo?", I'm gonna say yes though... :P

まさかこんな花火をフランスで見ようとは。
忘れられないフランス旅になりました^^
(その後アパルトマンまで30分ぐらい歩いて帰ったことも。笑)

I never expected I can see fireworks....!

July 14th is anniversary day of France and this is celebration.
Wow... Impressed!


さ、明日はパリを経由してベルギーはBrusselsに向かいます！

あと2日経つと、旅立ってから1ヶ月が経過したことになる...　っていかん!!! せめて帰国の日の一ヶ月後(8/20)までには書き終えたいぞ!!!

締め切りがあるから人は頑張れるのだ。Kです。

ほいでや。
とうとう13日の、我々の本番の日の話になりましたよ！やっとな！！w

私が参加したTsukuba Saxophone Quartet(以下TSQ)の事も少々復習?を。
筑波大学出身のアマチュアの方で結成されたのが始まりで、現在メンバー5名。
サックスのブロガー界では3大アマチュア(※Kの定義による)の一人であるkuriさんが参加されているカルテットであり、ネットだけでなくサクソフォン交流会や自主企画で演奏会を開催されていることもあって今や知る人ぞ知る最強アマチュアの方々。

で、今回アルト、バリトンのメンバーの方が参加出来ないってことで私と松下さん(こちらもやはりサックス界で有名人)がそこに入りました。
更にアルトにもう一名Aさんと、ゲストにRichard Ingham氏を迎え、マックス時7名でのステージとなりました。


Finally let's get to talk about my performance! -13th July.

Tsukuba Saxophone Quartet(TSQ), which I joined this time, is made up of five people who graduated Tsukuba University.
(Technically one person is not related to the university but originally all members are Tsukuba University's student.)
They are amateur but actively perform contemporary pieces and world/Japan premier performance.
So I called them "Super amateur".lol

And this time, two of members couldn't join. So kuri_saxo, tenor player of this quartet, asked me to join them.
That's why I joined!
Also Yo Matsushita, winner of Londeix competition, joined as a baritone player.

We have two more people for this concert as member of TSQ, so we showed two types of ensemble.

Here is the program of symposium concert:

• Mrs Malcom, Her Reel/ Richard Ingham
• Ctrl + Alt + Delete/ Shoichi Asai(旭井翔一) -world premier

プログラムはこの2曲。で、1曲めの方がさっき説明した7名での編成。
2曲めの旭井さんのはカルテットなので4名。


First piece, Mrs Malcom, Her Reel, was composed by Richard Ingham.
Fortunately we invited him to play with us, so first piece was played by seven people.

アップテンポの曲で、途中にテナーとソプラノのアドリブもあったりしてノリやすい曲で、朝早いにも関わらず来てくださったお客さんたちも楽しそうに聞いてくださった印象。
全員でのリハは着いた次の日に1回しただけでしたが、なんとか！

This piece is up-tempo and Soprano and Tenor have ad-lib part.
Even though we had rehearsal just a once, we perform well;)
I was really happy to see a many people's smile when I finished this piece. Actually I was afraid that there's no person to hear because our performance was 10:30am -early morning.
But there're so many people to hear our playing! I was really happy!


その次が今回一番気合を入れてさらっていた旭井さんの曲。
今回この演奏会の為にTSQが委嘱をし、これが世界初演！てことで、当たり前ですが参考音源もないし、コンテンポラリーにまだあまり経験のない自分としては未知との遭遇クラスで四苦八苦でした。

最初はほんっと出来ないんじゃないかなあとか、何度楽譜読んでも毎回「あ、初めまして・・・」みたいな感覚で、とてもとても覚えられない(ていうか吹けない)。

なーんて思ってましたけど、案外何度も練習すりゃ人間覚えるもんだなと思いました。(暗譜て意味じゃなくて)
最終的に演奏としてはここ最近の中では一番集中してたかもしれないです。
(時間は前後しますが)この間の試験よりもよっぽど集中してたね。いい感じの。笑
そりゃ集中出来ればノーミスの演奏！ってわけではないけどそれでも出しきった充実感みたいなのもあったし、何より終わった後にお客さんが思ったより沸いてたのを見て、演奏して良かったな、って。

And next one is the most difficult piece I've ever had!
Ctrl+Alt+Delete, composed by Shoichi Asai, was written for this congress.
This is kind of experimental one and so many special techniques such as slap tonguing, multi phonics, and rubbed rubber ball!

Because of difficulty of score and less experience of contemporary piece, I was very struggled.
Like, I see a score and every time I feel "Hi, nice to meet you",,, I couldn't make any sense :(

However we rehearsed many times, read a score, and practice, I think I finally got it.
At the performance, we concentrated and it was great premier performance although there are some mistake or something!
In fact, people look like having fun! ...I think! :P

まだこの後ベルギー公演が彼らを待っていた...!!!

体幹を鍛える夏にしたい...!

Before I start to talk about congress....

I went to bouldering gym yesterday and I decided to start core training.
Why? Not only bouldering!
(Actually, it was fun for me and I almost addicted to do this!)

I guess it is related to improve my performance coz it is important to know how to use the body.
To support my body and keep concentration, exercise brings good influence for me. I think!

今回はちょっと割愛率高めで行きます。

前回書いたのは7月10日の話。
我々の演奏は13日。


・・・11日12日は、ざざざっと強引気味に振り返ります。写真多め！

見に行ったコンサートの写真(撮れたやつだけ)と、いくつか感想を。


Even I want to write a lot of things about each concerts, I am going to show pictures I took and put a comment.
(It's not ALL concert I joined. I forgot to take a picture in some concerts...)

この日朝一のBカル。

何故僕たちが「B」カルなのか、という説明やらを有村先生がフランス語→日本語の順番で説明。

ウォルタイムトラベル等のレパートリーを披露。

Why "B"? Because, all of members' blood type... It sounds very Japanese, right?

And my teacher, Sumichika Arimura speaks French and then Japanese too.

Maybe this was first time to hear his French speaking in public...?

They played fun pieces such as Waltime travel.

片手のサックスのプレゼンテーション。ちょっと写真暗いっすね。。。
結構立派な冊子(メカニズムについて説明してある)も配られました。

Presentation of one handed saxophone.
I have seen this saxophone in HongKong, but this was very first time to see tenor!

Sax × ヘビメタみたいな組み合わせのコンサート。2曲やって後にやった方がギタリストと共演の。(写真)
ある意味超実験的でした。

Collaboration of Saxophone and bevy metal.
I never expected this two factors work together...(Without no microphones for saxophone!)

米国の最強の若手4人が集まったカルテット、とでも言いましょうか。Zzyzx Quartet.
(メンバーがIndiana大学出身で、今はそれぞれ違う州に住んでいるんだそうな。)
いや〜やっぱ上手いっす。 そしてこのコンサートはもう1歩遅かったら入れなかった...セーフ！

Because too many people wanted to hear this, I could have missed...!
(But a kind person's help, I entered! Thank you so much!!)
And yeah, it was GREAT!! Each player has awesome technique and this quartet has great sound.
Especially I wanted to know how they practice for matching intonation and making start point.
(I dunno I can explain well or not in English though..)

Anyways, I really want them to come to Japan and have a concert!

 夜のコンサート。FIVE SAXのコンサートの前座?として登場した女性4人。
踊ったり移動したりしながら吹くので、当然だけど暗譜が基本。魅せる力がすごい。

Before FIVE SAX's performance, four female players appeared to the stage and it was fantastic!!
Unfortunately I forgot to their name.. Anybody?? Know??

そしてそのFIVE SAX.
こういう大道芸的なのも披露しつつ、映画音楽をパロディーチックに?やりながら魅せてくれたりとか。(ちなみにYouTubeで多分同じネタ見れます)
爆笑と歓声の嵐でした。

And, the FIVE SAX!!
Not only like this picture's acrobatic performance, they made audience LAUGH!!

またキャパのデカいホールで。
今度は現代曲の初演で、オケ伴奏。
一番沸いたのはF.Geissのコンチェルト(Tim McAllisterがソリスト)。

At the big hall..
Some of famous saxophonists (such as Vincent David, Quatuor HABANERA..) played contemporary pieces with orchestra.
I impressed every pieces. Especially Tim McAllister's one (Composed by F.Geiss). Lighting as well... ;)

Stephen Page(PianoはLiz Ames)によるJohn Mackeyのソプラノサクソフォンのコンチェルトのピアノリダクション。
ピアノが最初内部奏法?から入るというなかなか見応えもあるもの。Lizさんが編曲なので、多分本人に連絡とれば楽譜の入手が出来る。

This piano reduction version made by Liz Ames, pianist of this concert.
I really like this version especially piano part- it begin with scratch piano wires and it sounds gorgeous!

It already can buy! Ok, I am going to think where I play this...!

メイン会場になる音楽院からトラムに乗って広場へ。
この時はSQUILLANTEが演奏中。ダッタン人とかオケもの編曲したやつ。野外で太陽ジリジリだわ風もあるのにあのクオリティ。
ホールで聞いたらどうなるんだろう。日本来て欲しいな...!!

By using trams, I went to this place.
SQUILLANTE, from France, played orchestra pieces such as Polovtsian Dances composed by Borodin.
Although it is difficult to ensemble outside(because of whether, and can't hear other players' sound), they played sophisticated sound!
If they play in concert hall? I really want to hear one and if they come to Japan...?? Oh I'd love to hear!

Jacob TVのTicking Timeの初演。
今回一緒にTSQでやったkuriさんがプレゼンをし、初演は佐藤淳一さんが。
テーマが福島の原発っていうこともあって日本初演は難しいのかもしれないけれど、結構感動した。是非日本でもやってほしい！

なんか、「アート」だったな、と。詳しくはまだ後日。(これについては書きます。)


World premier of Ticking Time, composed by Jacob TV.
Hajime Kuribayashi, presenter talks about Jacob TV and this piece and Jun-ichi Sato played the piece after presentation.
This piece, Ticking Time, was inspired by Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear disaster and even now many victims are in Japan(especially Fukushima).
It is many difficult to show in Japan but I was happy to be there and saw this performance.

It was art. Javob TV is the artist.
Since I saw this performance, I like his pieces.

EURO 100．
欧州のユースのサックス吹きが集まって共同生活?をしてリハを重ね、演奏するというものなのですが、まー現代曲を暗譜でやっちゃうんですよね。しかも動きながら。
動いてるからこそもしかしたらやりやすいのか？とかはあったけど、何よりこれが一番(いい意味で)カルチャーショックでかかったな。
コレに書いては後日絶対書きます。

EURO 100.
Youth saxophone students gathered from all of Europe and communal life(I dunno how many days), had rehearsals and play!
They played contemporary pieces with dance. Of course there's no score to see!
There are players and conductor.

I finally got why Europe people don't feel resistant for contemporary pieces and played well.

I am going to talk about this later.

同じくEURO 100の後半のプログラムは、サックスオケ＋ソリスト。
2曲やったうちの1曲は日本から中島諒君がソリスト。ブラボー!!!

This stage was saxophone orchestra and soloist.
First one was Ryo Nakajima's playing. Bravoooo!!

場所かわりまして広場にて。野外ステージでジャズをば。
みんなクラシック吹いたりジャズ吹いたり、器用だなあ！

At an another place. There is outdoor stage!
So many players play Jazz and Classic. Wow, really envy them and should I play another genre of music...?lol

すっごい綺麗だったけど、途中で何故かエグザイルみたいなのが最初一人なのが増殖してくみたいなのがあって、全体的にストーリー的なものはわかりませんw

結構会場がその団体の実力うにゃうにゃとか関係なく振り分けられているような感じで、お昼すぎぐらいからの公演は大体どこ行っても満員寸前だったり、人気の公演はほぼ瞬殺。。
人気者、あるいは人気のプログラムは世界的に一緒なのかもしれない、、というのは大げさ？w

I couldn't attend some concerts because already many people crowded in small space.
Everyone want to see same concert...? Haha.

気がつけば7月が終わる...

しかし旅はまだ始まったばっかり(Blog上だけな)... まだまだ心は旅の途中。Kです。
旅の途中てどゆことざーね！

It almost ends July... Time goes very quickly, you know?
But I am still enjoying travel even though I am in Japan already. Why?? Because I still don't finish Blogging yet!

さ、コングレスの話ですよ!!!旦那!!!!

アパートに荷物を置いてわりとすぐに、メイン会場となるストラスブール音楽院へ。
(最初バスのチケットの買い方わからなくてどうしようかと思いましたが、運転手さんに言ったらチケット買わせてくれました。ホッ)

Let's get start to talk about congress, guys!!

I went to La Cité de la musique et de la danse(Main place of the congress) soon after we arrived apartment.
(It was first tough work to take a bus because I didn't know how to buy a ticket for bus. I talked a driver and then I got a ticket. Yey.)

受付でパスを受け取るなり、早速コンサートを聞いてみる。

After I got a pass for joining congress, I heard some concerts right away.

It's not all the concerts I joined. I am going to share some concerts I like!

アポロサクソフォンカルテット from UK。

会場にはあふれんばかりの人、人、人。

ちなみにこの時は座れない人は立ち見ですが、日を追うごとにジベタリアン族も増えていくのである...

初めて聞く響きに心踊らされつつ、とりあえず1回アパルトマンに戻ることに。

発音もそうだけど、出した音の寄せ方が違うのかな。

People crowded to hear their playing.

Some people couldn't hear because of too many people in limited space..

It was very first time to hear their sound and it totally different from Japanese quartets' sound.

Maybe they have different intonation and way of sound making from Japanese?

I was fascinated their music.

After this concert. I went back to apartment.

家(そう、もはや家!!)に帰ると、大きなマスカットがお出迎え。

Big muscat welcomed me!

皮ごと食べられるこのデカマスカット。そしてその驚愕の安さ！！

・・・と思ったけど、なんとびっくりそのプライスを忘れました。(何もびっくりじゃねえや)

みんなで美味しく頂きました。

めっちゃジューシーやで。ジューシーって肉以外にもこういう時に使うんだなんて思ったり。

It was bigger, more delicious and cheaper than Japan!

...Even I forgot the price :P

少しゆっくりした後、夜はまたコンサートへ。

今度はギャルドがバックバンドをやるコンチェルトコンサート。

After we enjoyed big muscat and took a little break, we went to concerto concert at the night.

Very big concert hall!

Orchestra de la Garde Republicaine, accompaniment.

Soloists are famous sax players such as Christian Wirth, Claude Delangle, Branford Marsalis, and so on.

Garde have been to Japan for having concert several times but I never heard.
So it was nice chance to hear them with such a great soloists.

However,,,, here is very sad story...
Because of jet lag, I slept a little bit... Actually not "little bit".

中がとにかくデカい！

同じぐらいのキャパのホールは多分日本にもあるんですけど、客席が多分もっとタテにデカいんですよね。

ところが、ここは奥行きがすっごく大きくて、当然ながら天井もめっちゃ高い。

天井もやはり日本のホールよりでかいのでは...??

ソリストはクリスチャン・ヴィルドゥ、クロード・ドゥラングル、ブランフォード・マルサリス(!)等の著名なサクソフォン奏者ばかり。

まあ何が残念って旅疲れがあったのかほっとんど寝てたきがする...

最初こそ気合で起きてましたけど、あ、あとデュオニュソス(プログラムになかったけど演奏してた)は半ば血眼になりながら聞いてましたけど・・・

やっぱ音が違うね、っていうと月次で申し訳ないんですけど、違うんですよね。

音を合わせるポイントが違うのかな。

私は吹奏楽経験がそこまで豊富なわけではないので、また豊富な人が聞いたら違うフィーリングを感じたのかもしれません。(フィーリングって。。)

それにしても、客席に「あ、誰々さん！」「あ、あれ○○カルテットの誰々！」みたいなのばっかりで、なんか面白かったな(^^;)

嬉しい再会とかもあって、まあまあタフな一日ではあったものの、非常に楽しい1日でした。

By the way, 90% seats filled by saxophonists and it means I often say "Hey, here is ○○(famous saxophonist)!!", "Look, there is ○○, -- quartet's player!".

Interesting feeling but it was nice first day.
